She is active in many community organizations, has been an advocate for women and minorities and was the first African American female to serve as a Des Moines School Board member when she was elected in the 1990s.

Stephanie Sinovic has devoted her professional life to education. As a Senior Advancement Officer at Drake University, she works with alumni and donors throughout the country and finds great joy in connecting donors with their passions as they make a meaningful impact on the lives of students through philanthropy.

Her career began as a teacher in south central Los Angeles, where she saw firsthand how an education can transform a child’s life and she values the opportunity to continue witnessing this in higher education.
