My name is Shawn Soumilas and I live in Prescott, Arizona with my husband, Theo and oldest son, Ian.

On July 3, 2010 our son Zachary was stillborn at 38 weeks due to an undiagnosed placental abruption. Two days before our son’s death, I noticed a decrease in his movements and was told that it was “normal” and that he was just “settling down for birth.”

I know now that those statements are just a myth. Had I known about Count the Kicks and the importance of tracking my son’s movements on a daily basis, I feel confident that he would be alive today.

I will spend the rest of my life in Zach’s honor helping to prevent other families from experiencing the devastating tragedy of stillbirth.

Please email me to discuss ways to help parents-to-be learn about Count the Kicks in Arizona.
